Olushola Cole & Adejoke Tugbiyele
Olushola Cole and Adejoke Tugbiyele are two very different visual artists but their interdisciplinary approach is the point where they meet. In their films different media merge, compilations of diverse tools vibrate creating a magical machine that produces unknown visual ideas. The media they use are not just tools of expression of the mind, they are not representing anything fixed that waits to be enunciated. Essential is only the process of becoming, the fascinating dynamic of growing together. Nobody cares for the final outcome – because there is no final state. Dance, design, sculpture, sound, video – altogether results in an alienation effect on common categories like identity, sexuality, family, home, and ancestry.
