Workshop “Film Without Camera” with Éloïse Baille

Working with analogue experimental film lies at the intersection of cinema and visual arts. Well, you know, there’s loads of ways to make a film without even using a camera… During this workshop, participants will explore various experimental film techniques such as scratching, painting and drawing on film and emulsion lifting. Each participant will create several strips of film, which will be assembled at the end of the workshop to create a collective film.

– Editing of individual strips and screening of the collective film using a 16mm projector

Éloïse Baille edits, directs, and photographs. Image and gesture are at the heart of her practice. She combines digital and film media, which she develops herself, with documentary and experimental approaches. She explores the poetic boundaries between these different territories. Her work is shown at festivals, museums and galleries.
