Unser Jahresprogramm beginnt mit Filmtanzarbeiten von Yoshiko Chuma.
Yoshiko Chuma ist Tänzerin, Choreografin und Filmemacherin. Sie kam in den 70er Jahren aus Japan in die USA, wo sie zu einer der führenden Persönlichkeiten des post-modernen Tanzes wurde. 1982 gründete sie in New York City die bis heute aktive Tanzkompanie The School of Hard Knocks. Zwischen 1979 und 1983 drehte sie sieben 16-mm-Filme, in denen ihr Interesse für Tanz und Film aufeinandertrafen. Danach ließ sie dieses Medium hinter sich.

Our annual programme opens with Yoshiko Chuma’s film dance works.
Yoshiko Chuma is a dancer, choreographer and filmmaker. Having come to the USA from Japan in the 1970s, she became one of the leading figures in post-modern dance. In 1982, she founded the dance company The School of Hard Knocks in New York City. Between 1979 and 1983, she made seven 16 mm films in which she brought together her interests in dance and film. After that, she left this medium behind.
